GPR UTILITY SURVEY

GPR UTILITY SURVEY (GROUND PENETRATING RADAR)

To complement our Electromagnetic locators, we utilise the latest GPR Utility Survey (Ground Penetrating Radar) systems which enable the detection of non-metallic services such as PE gas and water pipes, asbestos cement pipes and Fibre Optic cables. Also, this allows the identification of manhole chamber extents and the location of buried utility survey tanks, basements extents and voids.
Data capture allows us to post-process survey results and present reports in line with PAS 128.

We’ve invested in the latest IDS and Mala GPR Utility Survey instrumentation, enabling us to detect both shallow and deep targets with a single scan, thereby reducing survey time and associated costs.

OUR GPR UTILITY SURVEY EQUIPMENT

Our GPR Utility Survey systems operate at 250 MHz and 700 MHz, displaying both channels simultaneously to increase detection performance and reduce the possibility of data error. Real-time displays allow us to mark the location of buried targets directly on site as the survey progresses, whilst data capture and onboard storage allow us to incorporate buried utility survey results into our report presentations.

WHY ORDER A GROUND PENETRATING RADAR SURVEY?

Compact and lightweight in design, our GPR units are highly manoeuvrable on site allowing us to access small areas with limited access. We can identify the ‘footprint’ positions and extents of manholes and other service-related chambers which mitigates the requirement to enter confined spaces.

  • Locate non-metallic water, gas and other services
  • Complement electromagnetic techniques
  • Identify the ‘footprint’ positions and extents of manholes and other service-related chambers
  • Mitigates the requirement to enter confined spaces to obtain chamber dimensions
  • Immediate results available on site GPR Scan for shallow and deep services in a single pass, reducing survey time and costs
