Amethyst Surveys were pleased to undertake this comprehensive PAS128 Utility Survey in Derby for our client, a Nottingham-based consulting engineering firm. The survey was commissioned to support a development project, with some elements of the survey undertaken overnight in order to minimise disruption.
The Survey: The survey area, a busy junction and surrounding carriageways to the south of Derby city centre, required the implementation of traffic management to ensure the survey could be undertaken safely and with minimal disruption. We undertook a PAS128 Type B survey; a detailed underground survey where both Electromagnetic Locating (EML) equipment and Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) are used to seek, detect, verify and locate services, such as electrical cables, water mains and telecommunication lines.
Following a total of 7 days on site, including 2 where we worked overnight, our team returned to our Rugby office to collate all information and produce CAD drawings, ahead of issuing the final deliverables to the client.
The Results: We were pleased to utilise our two decades of experience to ensure this PAS 128 survey was delivered accurately, efficiently and within the agreed budget. As our client had provided an up-to-date topographical survey drawing, we overlaid the completed PAS 128 drawing for site context.
