Underground Utility Survey of an Industrial Estate, West Sussex

We were delighted to undertake this underground utility survey of an industrial estate in Crawley, West Sussex. The industrial estate was being considered for redevelopment and various measured surveys, including this highly-detailed underground utility survey, were instructed to support both the architect and developer with determining project feasibility.

The Survey: We were instructed to undertake this underground utility survey by Terrain Surveys, who themselves were on-site to carry out other measured surveys, including a topographical survey and measured building survey for their client, CMP Architects.

This extensive underground utility survey would map all pipes, channels and covers across the industrial estate, which is home to numerous businesses and warehouses, all of which were to remain operational throughout the survey.

In order to undertake the survey both swiftly and accurately, our experienced team used the latest methods available, which included undertaking a GRP Survey, which would assist in locating non-conductive materials such as plastic gas and water pipes, underground storage tanks and empty voids.

In addition to the on-site utility survey, we performed a desktop utility search, providing up to date utility records for the site area, gathered from the relevant utility providers and collated into a PDF report.

The Results: After the Amethyst Surveys team had captured all required information from site, we began to produce a digital report. This report, which was provided in CAD format as well as DWG, provided the client with a clear yet highly-detailed map of all respective services across this large site.

Should you have a requirement for a underground utility survey, please do not hesitate to contact Amethyst Surveys and we would be delighted to assist.
