Measured Building Survey

Introduction: Amethyst Surveys were pleased to undertake this measured building survey of a large store and warehouse in Blackpool, Lancashire for our client, BCAL Consulting. The site is home to the Blackpool branch of a national wholesaler and a measured building survey was instructed to support with refurbishment plans.
The Survey:

This sizeable building, which was to remain open and operational throughout the measured building survey, serves as a cash-and-carry, meaning we were to take particular care to minimise disruption to staff and visitors alike. Using a state-of-the-art 3D laser scanner, we were tasked with producing a floor plan to the ground floor, external elevations and sections of the building. This measured building survey would show all features such as columns, beams and stairs within the building, along with heights of doors and windows and locations of any respective services.

To further support redevelopment plans, a CCTV drainage survey was instructed to investigate and confirm the foul and storm below ground drainage systems and report on the condition of the drains. We were pleased to instruct our affiliated company, Terrain Surveys, to complete the CCTV survey.

The Results:

With two decades of experience in undertaken measured building surveys, Amethyst Surveys were pleased to deliver the requested floor plans, elevations and sections of this large commercial building to the agreed timescale and within budget. This measured building survey, which was presented in 2D DWG format, ensures the client is equipped with highly-accurate plans of their building, which will play a vital role in the refurbishment project.
