Introduction: We were delighted to undertake this PAS128 Utility Survey at Grundy Art Gallery in Blackpool, Lancashire. Built in 1911, this Grade II listed building, which is notable for both its Edwardian architecture and its eclectic artwork, sits in the very heart of Blackpool and is owned and operated by Blackpool Town Council.
The Survey:

We were instructed to carry out this PAS128 Survey of ‘The Grundy’ by Terrain Surveys, who themselves were on-site undertaking a measured building survey, collating all relevant data to produce an impressive 3D BIM Model of this most attractive local landmark.

Strictly adhering to the standards set out in PAS128, Amethyst Surveys performed a detection survey of all underground utilities across the entire site which, as well as the Art Gallery, is home to the town’s Central Library.  To identify all underground utilities, this PAS 128 survey utilised various Electro-magnetic techniques, as well as a GPR Survey, which ensured accurate mapping of all pipework and other services.

The Results:

After the Amethyst Surveys team had captured all required information from site, we began to produce a digital report. This report, which was provided in CAD format as well as DWG, provided the client with a clear yet highly-detailed map of all respective services across this large site.

Should you have a requirement for a PAS128 survey, please do not hesitate to contact Amethyst Surveys and we would be delighted to assist.
