Project Type
Topographical and Underground Drainage Survey
Location
Wolverhampton

Amethyst Surveys were pleased to be commissioned by The City of Wolverhampton Council to undertake both a topographical and underground drainage survey at a car park and former public paddling pool in Tettenhall, Wolverhampton. The primary objective of the survey was to accurately identify and map the existing drainage system and outlets, providing essential data to inform future redevelopment and maintenance plans for the site.

The team firstly conducted a comprehensive topographical survey of the car park and paddling pool area, to provide the Council with detailed and accurate data to support the redevelopment and upgrade of the existing drainage systems.

Following the topographical survey, the drainage survey focused on identifying and mapping both foul and surface water drainage systems on-site. Using our extensive knowledge of drainage systems, built up over two decades, we deployed a combination of utility survey techniques, Electromagnetic Locating (EML) and Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR). These technologies allowed us to locate underground utilities with high accuracy, even in challenging conditions.

Once the on-site survey work was completed, the team returned to the office to analyze and compile the data. Our surveyors worked closely with the CAD team to create detailed drawings, ensuring all findings were presented in a clear and usable format.

The Results

Our skilled team ensured that survey drawings were produced efficiently, within the agreed timeframe and budget. By utilizing advanced survey techniques and technology, we provided highly accurate and detailed data, enabling the client to confidently move forward with their redevelopment plans
